Happiness in the Dugout
Mahambo authentic and quiet fishing village on the east coast and at the end of a beautiful avenue of coconut, I love the Hotel La Pirogue little piece of paradise on the shores of the Indian Ocean. Beautiful beaches. Lush, beautiful bungalows furnished with great taste and movable scenery and everything is made from Mada. It's beautiful. Everything is super clean. Flowers, magnificent trees to the delight of two friendly lemurs freedom.
A talented young chef cooking, excellent fresh produce, fish, crustaceans, poultry, fruits and there is even a vegetable. Sunday breakfast and meals will, generous and a real treat.
Bernard and Dominique patrons and staff are lovely and always ready to serve you. I rented a bike from the hotel and it was a great adventure to walk in small ways and then an extra massage.
The dream feels so good and serene La Pirogue. Not want to leave but we will come back soon for sure.
Discover a haven of peace and gentleness where, in tropical and romantic atmosphere, the friendly and attentive staff will make you enjoy your holidays in a couple or family.
We stayed once at the canoe 2004, it was a lovely little hotel in a wonderful setting, we went back there last April and what a surprise !
We learned that the management changed at the end 2008 and great changes have taken place, at hygiene, hospitality (the "vasahas" very nice) and the grounds, which became a tropical paradise.
The food is superb, always fish and fresh seafood, but much more elaborate, and then the bar that allowed us to meet other guests enjoying punches home.
So we got lots of friends, we canceled our hotel in Ste Marie and had a great week in the canoe.
Mahambo still retains its authentic side and it is a pleasure to walk around and meet the villagers, especially children so lovely and friendly
